FARGO - Police here say a body found by searchers in the Red River near 52nd Avenue South today is believed to be that of a Fargo woman reported missing on Saturday.

Preliminary identification indicates the body is that of Kathleen Koper, according to Lt. Pat Claus.

The body will be sent to Bismarck for an autopsy and positive ID by the state medical examiner.

The investigation doesn't indicate foul play, Claus stated.

Claus said police were notified at 9:45 a.m. that search crews found a body about six blocks north of where the woman’s car was located near the Living Lab on 58th Avenue South.

Members of Valley Water Rescue and the Fargo Fire Department began looking for the woman on Saturday after her husband reported her missing at 11:30 a.m.

The missing woman has had a history of depression, police said. A bloodhound tracked her scent into the river, and footprints were found leading into the water.
