Montana marathon seeking Delaware runner

MISSOULA, Mont. — A Montana marathon is seeking a runner from Delaware so all 50 states can be represented in the July 11 event.

Organizers of the Missoula Marathon and Half Marathon recently learned that athletes from every state in the country have submitted an entry for the event, except for Delaware.

Race director Jennifer Straughan says organizers have called running clubs in Delaware, and if they don't get a bite soon, they'll invite Vice President Joe Biden.

Organizers are offering free registration to the first runner from Delaware who signs up.

Last December, Runner's World magazine readers voted the Missoula event the best marathon in America. Organizers expect over 5,000 people to participate.
