Letting your children help in the kitchen with fun recipes teaches them important life skills.

Marshmallow Treats on a Stick

4 cups rice cereal

Marshmallow fluff or marshmallow creme

Sprinkles

Melted chocolate, optional

Craft sticks

Have the child scoop a cup of cereal into bowl. Add marshmallow fluff to the cereal and mix well. Add cereal if needed so the mixture is not sticky. Mold shape as desired and insert a craft stick. Repeat with remaining cereal and marshmallow fluff. Dip the treats into melted chocolate if desired. Add sprinkles, then wrap in parchment paper and put into plastic baggie for storage.

Yield: Serves 8.

Approximate nutritional analysis per serving: 134 calories, no fat, 31 grams carbohydrates, 1 gram protein, 147 milligrams sodium, no cholesterol, no fiber.
