With grilling season upon us, here’s a marinade that will kick steaks up a notch.

Orange Soy Ginger Marinade

¼ cup soy sauce

¼ cup dry sherry

¼ cup olive oil

2 tablespoons grated orange rind

¼ cup fresh orange juice

2 garlic cloves, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

2 tablespoons brown sugar (for sauce)

Whisk ingredients together (except brown sugar). Cover meat with marinade in shallow bowl. Marinade for at least 2 hours refrigerator. Remove meat from marinade. Grill to desired doneness. Let meat to stand for 10 minutes before serving. Pour marinade into small saucepan. Add brown sugar. Bring to boil over medium-high heat. Reduce to simmer, stirring often. Cook until sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat. Add any collected meat juices to sauce, stir and serve with sliced meat.

Yield: 1 cup.
