The Grand Forks Police Department released a security camera image Monday of a man who robbed the Simonson Station Store at 310 Gateway Drive with a handgun on Saturday night.

Police say the suspect’s description and method is similar to those from last week’s robberies at the Fairfield Inn and Discontent in Grand Forks.

The man who robbed Simonson was described as having a slim build, standing about 6 feet tall and wearing dark colored clothing, including a jacket, gloves, a hat and dark cloth covering the lower half of his face.

Police told the Herald the suspect entered through the north doors, didn’t make any direct threats but displayed the handgun, took an undisclosed amount of money and left through the same doors.

Police urge anyone with information about the robberies to contact the department at (701) 787-8000 or Crimestoppers at (701) 746-1000.

“We’ve gotten some phone calls that we’re looking into, but haven’t developed anything substantially,” Sgt. B.A. Johnson said.

Information leading to a conviction may result in a Crimestoppers award of up to $1000.
