At this Thanksgiving Day’s get-together, Campbell’s Soup and French’s suggests switching things up a bit on this old favorite by using some green and red bell peppers in what’s become an icon among dishes that define food traditions and American culture and truly has endured the test of time.
Festive Green Bean Casserole
1 10¾-ounce can Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom Soup
¾ cup milk
1/3 cup French’s French Fried Onions
4 cups cooked whole green beans
1 cup diced red bell peppers
Mix soup, milk, 2/3 cup French Fried Onions, beans and bell pepper in 1½-quart baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until hot. Stir.
Top with remaining onions. Bake 5 minutes.
Yield: Serves 6.
Tip: Use 1 pound fresh beans, cooked, or 16-ounce package frozen.
