H1N1: Businesses and schools asked to be lenient with doctors' notes

BISMARCK - With flu numbers rising in North Dakota, the state Health Department is asking employers to be a bit more lenient with employee absences.
State Health Department epidemiologist Kirby Kruger says the department has asked businesses and schools to reconsider their requirements for doctor’s notes for those who are absent. He says the process of getting doctor’s notes has put more burdens on health care providers.
North Dakota is so far reporting 563 cases of the flu. Of those, 110 are confirmed as swine flu, or H1N1.
