Smoking ban passes S.D. House

PIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota House has given final legislative passage to a strengthened smoking ban.
The House voted 46-23 on Monday to pass HB1240, which bans smoking in nearly all public places.
The House action accepted a minor Senate change and sent the bill to Gov. Mike Rounds.
The governor said last week that he doesn't like smoking but refused to say whether he would sign the bill.
