The heavy metal band, Metallica, may be planning a performance in Grand Forks, if evidence on social media sites is any indication.

The Alerus Center and the band shared the same image on their social media accounts recently.

When he was reached for comment Friday, Feb. 23, Riley Simenson, marketing director at the Alerus Center, said, “I can’t confirm or deny that Metallica is going to come to Grand Forks.”

But advised fans to be on the lookout “for information coming out, down the line.”

Metallica performed for the opening of the U.S. Band Stadium in September 2016 in Minneapolis and, closer to this area, at the Fargodome in February 1997.
