Kat Perkins of ‘The Voice’ fame to perform in Medora
MEDORA, N.D. -- Kat Perkins, the Scranton native who surged to the top five of the NBC talent show “The Voice,” will perform in Medora on Aug. 22.
Details were announced Friday at Burning Hills Amphitheatre. Perkins delivered a personal video message about her upcoming concert.
The singer, who now is based in Twin Cities, spent several summers as a performer in the Medora Musical and will return to the same stage for the concert, according to organizers.
Coached by Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, Perkins earned fame on “The Voice” for her hard-rocking renditions of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals' "Paris (Ooh La La),” Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and "Let It Go," the single from the Disney hit "Frozen." She was saved from elimination twice by audience votes on Twitter but was sent home in the semifinals.
Zach Schauf, Perkins’ manager, said the rocker is busy recording in the studio and has more tour dates planned.
“We’ve got a lot in the hopper right now,” Schauf said.
