Warren G. Howe, 82, Minot, ND, formerly of Ruso, ND, died Monday, June 9, 2014, at the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva.
Warren Gerald Howe was born September 29, 1931, the son of Edwin and Laura (Ave) Howe, on the William Ave family farm located 6 miles south of Velva, ND. As a young child, he and his family lived at the Truax Traer Mines, where Warren attended grade school and graduated from eighth grade. In 1945, he and his family moved to the family farm and Warren attended Velva High School, graduating in 1949. While in high school, Warren was very active in the Velva F.F.A. Chapter. He participated in State Dairy Judging, was a member of several livestock judging teams, and served as Parliamentarian, Treasurer, and President.
Warren enlisted in the United States Army in June of 1952. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict with the 5th Army Division for 2 years, and was honorably discharged in 1954.
Warren married Cecilia A. Schoenberg November 14, 1952, in Velva. They made their home in Minot. Warren worked at Bridgeman Creamery in Minot for three years and then at Jims T.V. in Garrison for a time before joining I.B.M. in September of 1957. They lived in Bismarck for five years before being transferred with I.B.M. to Grand Forks, where they lived for the next 26 years. Warren retired from I.B.M. in 1988, after 31 years. He and Cecilia then moved to a farm north of Ruso, ND.
He was a former member of Oak Valley Lutheran Church in Velva, where he was active with the church council and with the kitchen remodeling committee. Warren was currently a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Minot.
His favorite pastimes were farming, fishing, and bowling.
Surviving family includes: wife of 61 years, Cecilia, Minot; children, Dwight (Sharon) Howe, Grand Forks, ND, Clyde (Elizabeth) Howe, Mandan, and Kevin (Mary Jo) Howe, Fond du Lac, WI; grandchildren, Eric (Nicole) Howe, Tyler Howe, Caitlyn (Kris) Kanski, Scott Howe, Steve (Whitney) Howe, Keith Howe, Curtis Howe, and Casey Howe; great-grandchildren, Devyn, Brody, Otto, Brekken, and Rayne; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene (Evelyn) Howe, Florida, and Dale (Deloris) Howe, Minot; and several nieces and nephews.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Laura.

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND.
