Some Dakota Access Pipeline opponents move to higher ground as camp closure looms

Victims in south-central N.D. accident identified

STRASBURG, N.D. -- The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the names of three people involved in a fatal car accident near Strasburg.

Albert Houn, of Strasburg, was killed in the two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon after Katherine Vetter, of Linton, failed to yield to a yield sign in her car at Seventh Avenue Southeast and 89th Street Southeast four miles west of Strasburg, according to a new release. Vetter, 17, was struck by Houn's pickup truck. Houn, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck's passenger, Adam Houn, 17, was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Linton. Vetter, who was wearing her seatbelt, was also treated and released.

Neither person in the pickup was wearing a seat belt.

Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
