Two Harvey, N.D., men arrested after Sabin, Minn., man bound to chair
Two Harvey, N.D., men were arrested Thursday in connection with a home invasion Wednesday night in Sabin, Minn., authorities said this morning.
Joseph Michael Weninger, 25, and Jason Lee Roerick, 21, were arrested in Wells County in North Dakota and are being held on suspicion of first-degree aggravated robbery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and fifth-degree burglary, according to Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist.
The owner of the farmhouse, who was tied to a chair outside prior to two men entering his home, was able to identify the suspects despite their masks, Bergquist said.
"He could see them through the holes. He even called them by name," he said.
The victim, who suffered some minor cuts to his face, was still trying to establish whether anything was taken from the home.
Bergquist said charges have been filed in Clay County District. The pair will have to be extradited to Minnesota to appear on those charges.
