Timberwolves lost 109-92 against Grizzlies
Grizzlies 109, Timberwolves 92: Mike Conley scored 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting to lift Memphis to its 10th straight home win.
Zach Randolph tallied 17 points and Marc Gasol had 14 points and 12 rebounds as the Grizzlies held onto seventh place in the Western Conference standings, a half-game up on Phoenix and Dallas. Tayshaun Prince and Ed Davis contributed 12 points apiece in Memphis' 15th win in the last 20 games.
Kevin Love led four players in double figures with 16 points for Minnesota, going 6-of-18 from the floor. Corey Brewer finished with 15 points, Kevin Martin had 13 and Gorgui Dieng added 11 points and 17 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who shot 37.8 percent.
Minnesota, which scored 41 points in the first quarter Sunday against Phoenix, was down 25-11 late in the opening period of this one after Randolph scored four straight points. It was a 15-point margin entering the second and Gasol had five points in a 12-2 run just before halftime that helped Memphis carry a 57-39 advantage into intermission.
Love hit a 3-pointer and handed out three straight assists as Minnesota opened the third with a 10-2 burst, but Conley's three-point play sparked a 14-2 reply that included Randolph's first 3-pointer in 17 attempts this season and made it 77-53. The Timberwolves rallied within 13 points entering the fourth but missed their first eight shots of the period and Conley followed up a 3-pointer with a reverse layup for a commanding 93-68 advantage with 7:24 left.
