Theurer named N.D. Agriculture Department’s emergency manager
BISMARCK -- North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring appointed Kent Theurer as the Department of Agriculture’s emergency manager on Tuesday.
A Dickinson native, Theurer graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in emergency management. For the past seven years, he has been the emergency management coordinator at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center in Jamestown.
Theurer will coordinate the development of the Department of Agriculture’s emergency management plans, develop preparedness exercises and facilitate training of staff in emergency and disaster roles.
He will represent the department in an operational capacity in times of emergency and disaster, and will serve as liaison with other federal, state and local government agencies involved in emergency response.
