Sylvia A. Zolondek

Sylvia A. Zolondek, 88 of Warsaw, ND passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at her home in Warsaw.

Sylvia Amelia Lizakowski was born April 3, 1926, the daughter of Valerian and Cecelia (Briske) Lizakowski in Walshville Township in Walsh County, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in rural Warsaw. Upon the completion of her education, she worked on the family farm, eventually managing the farming operations. Sylvia married Frank Zolondek, Sr. on November 20, 1961in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Warsaw. Following their marriage, they farmed in the Warsaw area. Frank preceded her in death on October 10, 2006. Sylvia continued to live on the family farm until moving to Minot, ND to be with her son, Frank, Jr. and later moved with him to St. Cloud, MN. She returned to Warsaw in June 2014. Sylvia was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, the Parish Altar Society and the Polish National Alliance. She enjoyed gardening, farming, hunting, fishing and collecting keychain advertising. For many years, she wrote the Warsaw News for the Walsh County Record.

She is survived by her son, Frank Zolondek, Jr. of St. Cloud, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank and a sister, Lorraine Kaatz.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Warsaw, ND.

Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday with a 4:30 p.m. rosary service and a 7:00 p.m. vigil service in the Historic Norman Funeral Home-Gregory J. Norman Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Saturday.

Burial: St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery, Warsaw, ND.
