The sheriff’s office said in a news release that the Waubun-Ogema-White Earth district student was interviewed and subsequently made admissions to the threat.

He was receiving a mental health evaluation, after which a decision will be made on his custodial status. Reports will be forwarded to the Mahnomen County Attorney's Office for consideration of any charges.

Law enforcement was informed of the threat, which was made in written form, about 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said. After a search of the school, the “all clear” was given just after 2:30 p.m.
