Street style/everyday style: Lori Perkerewics: Eye-catching brights with a bit of country
For an afternoon lunch at Dakota Harvest Bakers, Lori Perkerewicz, of East Grand Forks, wore an eye-catching neon pink striped top, a bright scarf and a vibrant blue cross body bag. Below the waist, her look was a bit more tamed with casual leggings and pale pink cowboy boots.
Perkerewicz works at East Grand Forks Central Middle School as a keyboarding teacher, but she also lives on a farm raising chickens. She said she’s known as “the crazy chicken lady” because she always brings eggs to the other teachers at school.
And, with her time on the farm, it’s no surprise that this middle school teacher adds a little country to her look.
- How would you describe your style?
“I like bright colors … I like the unusual. I like mixing different styles for what’s comfortable.”
- Where do you shop for clothing and accessories?
“I do shop at the Gap, and I go to True Colors. I do like repurposing clothes, and I repurpose items, that’s kind of half of it… And my boots are TSC, Tractor Supply Store.”
- How do you typically accessorize?
“Something bright, like a bright scarf. I don’t think I’d say I’m a real big jewelry person. I have one or two pieces that I wear, and it has to be something that means something, something I’ve gotten from my mom or my grandma.”
- What signature piece are you known for wearing?
“Cowbody boots from TSC.”
- What are you currently craving in clothing and accessories?
“I’m always on the lookout for another cowboy hat. I know it sounds crazy, but that’s what I wear all the time, so I’m always on the lookout for another one.”
