Street Style / Athletic wear: Amy Shimek: Sporty mom on-the-go

Amy Shimek, of Grand Forks, sports an all-black athletic-inspired look, while her daughter Annika dons a black and red Minnie Mouse inspired outfit.

For a family trip to the mall, Amy Shimek, of Grand Forks, wore an all-black look with leggings, a sporty long-sleeve top and athletic boots. She topped it off with a chunky black scarf, stud earrings and natural makeup.

Shimek is a health coach and personal trainer, and it’s obvious her career has some influence on her style. She may not have been entirely ready for a workout, but her look was very athletic-inspired. And, as a mom on-the-go, a relaxed look works well for chasing her daughters.

  •  How would you describe your style?

“Usually sporty, relaxed, yoga wear if I’m at home.”

  •  Where do you typically shop for clothes and accessories?

“Lululemon, TJ Maxx, Nordstroms…those are the main three.”

  •  What is your signature piece or color?

“I guess it’d be black for a color — and leggings.”

  •  How do you accessorize?

“Lots of scarves and earrings.”

  •  What are you currently craving?

“Color; new spring wardrobe. I like lots of color in the spring and summer.”
