Storm risk in Red River Valley not unlike ‘Tornado Alley’
FARGO -- The long forgotten “Tornado Belt” once ran smack through Fargo-Moorhead.
The arbitrary designation coincided with the Northern Pacific Railroad, extending from Duluth, Minn., to Puget Sound, and supposedly marked the northern limit of tornadoes.
