SOUND CHECK: Songs of comfort
When I was little, my father used to put me to bed and sing “Beautiful, Beautiful Brown Eyes” and “You Are My Sunshine.”
I learned the words and would sometimes sing with him, but I didn’t understand all of their meaning.
My parents’ marriage didn’t last and I didn’t see him for many years, but when I thought of these songs, the memory always reminded me that I was loved.
