Members largely lauded his communication, administrative and leadership abilities, particularly his outreach to the community and staff when the School Board considered budget cuts last year.

Members also noted his work with the state Legislature, saying many may not realize the extent of the contact of because much of it is through emails, calls and other communication out of the public eye, they said.

Nybladh, who was mostly quiet during the discussion, said he appreciated the acknowledgement.

“It’s really being a resource person for the Legislature,” he said. “It’s a significant effort and time out of the district, but I think it’s important to our district to have our needs represented.”

Nybladh’s goals were established in part by the district’s strategic plan, a five-to-seven-year set of broad goals the district wants to achieve.

The evaluation will be due March 15.
