Small American flags and flowers dotted the tombstones at Memorial Park Cemetery in honor of Memorial Day.

Area veterans and other residents gathered in the cemetery Monday morning as the Grand Forks City Band played patriotic songs, in honor of those who gave their lives serving their country.
