WAHPETON, N.D. — After a quick start it was all Wahpeton here Friday as the Huskies beat Grand Forks Central.

Wahpeton had three players in double figures, led by Lachelle Bumgarner’s 21. Leslie Hibl and Erika Differding each chipped in 10 points.

“We came out slow and kind of got shell shocked in the way the game began,” Central coach D.J. Burris said. “We settled too much and foul trouble stopped any momentum to come back in this game.”

Central had two in double figures, Angelica Medrano and Lauren Dub both scoring 13 points.

MINOT — The Grand Forks KnightRiders were defeated by Minot on Friday, but multiple Grand Forks swimmers posted personal best times.

“We don’t expect best times with every swim and every meet,” said Grand Forks coach Brent Newman. “But there was some great improvements over the week of training.”

Tristan Weisz led the KnightRiders in scoring on the day, winning the 100 freestyle.

Dylan Foley, Lucas Nelson, Ben Schleicher, Dan Todorovic, Tristan Weisz, Zach Lefebvre, and Thomas Devine qualified for the state meet in their respective events.
