BEMIDJI, Minn. — Ellen Potter scored 17 points and East Grand Forks Senior High had a late defensive stop to beat Bemidji on Friday.

Rylee Skyberg also scored 12 points and Kelsey Schlenk had 11 for the Green Wave.

Bemidji led 29-23 at halftime.

“We did a good job rebounding in the second half,” Senior High coach Emily Ruemmele  said. “We played solid defense.”

Kelsey Olson and Cheyenne Woods each scored 10 to pace Bemidji.

Crookston 6,

Grand Forks 2

      Lizzy Awender’s hat-trick helped lead the Crookston Pirates past the Grand Forks KnightRiders on Friday night.

    The KnightRiders took a 2-0 lead in the first period but were outdone with six unanswered goals from the Pirates.

   “They have a very tough goalie,” Grand Forks coach Darin Schumacher said of Lexie Cormican. “We really took it to her during the third period but she stood her ground.”

    Goal scorers for Grand Forks were Lexi O’Halloran and Peyton LeNoir.

The KnightRiders will be in action today when they play Jamestown.

 

 

Briefly

  •  Boys basketball: Warren-Alvarado Oslo received 22 points from Danny Schmidt and 11 from Peter Durand as the Ponies beat visiting East Grand Forks Sacred Heart 53-32 on Friday night. Sacred Heart had only two players who scored, Riley Hallaway with 18 points and Michael Burd with 14.
