GF Red River 77, Fargo Shanley 65
Chad Bartosh scored 29 points to lead Grand Forks Red River to a win over Fargo Shanley on Tuesday in Grand Forks.
“The guys executed well in the first half tonight,” said Red River coach Jason Gregory. “We had a lot of energy and rebounded well.”
Braedan Hanson scored 16 points for the Roughriders and Ty Straus added 11. Patrick Strom led Shanley with 27.
Red River ends the regular season with a 13-6 record. The Roughriders will host the first round of the EDC tournament on Tuesday. Their opponent is yet to be determined.
EGF Sacred Heart 71, Norman Co. West 52
HALSTAD, Minn. – East Grand Forks Sacred Heart defeated Norman County West behind 20 points from Stacy Remer and 19 from Anya Edwards.
“We played good team defense,” said Eagles coach Joann Remer. “We had good balanced scoring, the girls played well.”
Sacred Heart also received 17 points from Jordyn Lloyd and 11 from Michele Remer.
The Eagles improved to 21-2 on the year.
Devils Lake 62, GF Central 58
Emily Schafer scored a game-high 27 points to lead Devils Lake to a win over Grand Forks Central on Tuesday in Grand Forks.
“We dug ourselves a big hole early,” said Central coach D.J. Burris. “The girls fought back and got it within one with a few minutes left. It came down to a few shots that didn’t fall for us and few that did for them.”
Madison Walford also scored 14 points for Devils Lake. Lindsey Shimpa led the Knights with 21.
Central will host Wahpeton on Thursday.
- Boys basketball: East Grand Forks Sacred Heart was defeated in overtime 46-44 by Red Lake County in a play-in game for the Section 8A tournament. The Eagles were led in scoring by Michael Burd with 19 and Riley Hallaway with eight.
- Girls basketball: Grand Forks Red River was downed 60-35 on the road Tuesday by Fargo Shanley, which was led in scoring by Sarah Jacobson with 26 points. The Roughriders were led in scoring by Alexis Robson and Keana Burr with seven points each.
- Girls basketball: Madison McKeever scored 28 points to lead Win-E-Mac to a 73-53 win over visiting East Grand Forks Senior High on Tuesday. Rylee Skyberg led the Green Wave with 16 points.
