PELICAN RAPIDS, Minn. – A 63-year-old woman here suffered serious injury after crashing her car head on into another vehicle just north of here on Saturday night.

Jacquelyn Burrows, of Pelican Rapids, was driving her 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser southbound on Highway 59 near 450th Street about 8:25 p.m. when she crossed over the center line and struck a 2001 Mercury Sable traveling northbound head on, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Burrows was taken to Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls with serious injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt.

The driver of the Sable, 18-year-old Kelsey Laugen, of Elk River, suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash, the patrol said. Laugen was also wearing her seatbelt.

No alcohol was detected in either driver, the patrol said.
