Sausage Broccoli Stir-Fry

“This recipe really comes alive with the amazing flavor of Johnsonville Sausage,” says Kris Winkelman, who hosts the “Kris’ Kitchen” segment on husband Babe’s outdoors TV show. “It’s a fantastic midday meal between fishing and hunting adventures.”

2 tablespoons canola oil

1 package Johnsonville Smoked Premium Cooking Sausage, cut into coins

1 tablespoon ginger, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

4 cups fresh broccoli

¼ cup water

4 tablespoons teriyaki, oyster, or plum sauce

Hot cooked rice

½ cup cashew halves

In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add the sausage, ginger and garlic. Stir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes or until lightly browned. Add the broccoli, water and teriyaki sauce. Cook and stir for 3 to 4 minutes or until broccoli is crisp-tender. Serve over rice and sprinkle with cashews.

Buffalo Sauced Pheasants Bites

“If you love buffalo chicken, then just wait until you sink your taste buds into this dish!” Kris Winkelman writes. “A wonderful appetizer to serve your guests at your next fish and wild game feast.”

¼ cup butter (melted)

¼ cup chili sauce (set aside 1/8 of cup)

¼ cup hot pepper sauce (set aside 1/8 of cup)

1 ½ pounds pheasant cut in to cubes

1 cup chunky Bleu Cheese salad dressing

In a skillet mix pheasant with butter and half of chili and hot pepper sauces. Cook pheasant until done (about 8 to 10 minutes). Add remaining sauce and completely coat all the cubed pheasant, then add bleu cheese dressing.
