North Dakotans said to be among clumsiest in country

If you're reading this story on your iPhone, be careful.

North Dakotans were named the fourth clumsiest state residents when it comes to handling their iPhones by SquareTrade, an independent warranty provider.

According to company projections, between 25 and 29 percent of warranty holders in North Dakota reported damage to their iPhone over the course of two years.

iPhone users in Mississippi were named the clumsiest, followed by New Mexico, Rhode Island and South Carolina.

The clumsy score for each state was based on the number of accidental damage claims occurring during a defined period -- in this case, the first two years of a warranty -- divided by the number of warranties in that state, according to SquareTrade.

The company also ranked the clumsiest iPad users by state. South Carolina topped the list, accompanied by Mississippi, Nebraska, Washington, D.C., and Alaska.

Minnesota residents seem to be more careful with their electronics. They found themselves on the list of the least clumsy iPhone users. Minnesota came in fifth place behind Iowa, Wyoming, Nebraska and Hawaii.

As for iPads, Montanans were recognized as the least clumsy users, followed by users in West Virginia, Hawaii, Massachusetts and Indiana.
