Marcella E "Marcie" Weisz, age 75 of Park River, ND passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014 at First Care Health Center of Park River, ND.

Marcella E. Hoffman was born December 13, 1938 in Leola, South Dakota the daughter of the late Christian and Eva (Schock) Hoffman. She graduated from Leola High School. Marcella was united in marriage to Earl Weisz on August 20, 1957 in Leola. The couple lived in Rapid City, SD where Marcie worked at the caf and meat market. The couple moved to Ashley, ND in 1959 and in the fall of 1965 they moved to Park River, ND. Marcie worked at the Bowl-Mor lanes, Coast to Coast Hardware Store in Park River and later worked at the Grafton Developmental Center, retiring in 2000. Marcie also sold Avon for several years and most recently worked as a para at the Park River District.

Marcie was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church and WELCA. She served as President of the Park River American Legion Auxiliary. Marcie loved to play cards and was a member of a Pinnochle and Whist groups. They were members of the Polka-Klub of America. After retiring Marcie volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels.

Marcie is survived by her husband, Earl of Park River, ND; children: Belinda Weisz (Jeff Hall), Straham, NH; Brian Weisz, Park River, ND; Cheryl (Toby) Welch, Park River, ND; Neal (Julia) Weisz, Little Falls, MN; six grandchildren: Tyson Welch , Brice Welch, Karli Weisz, Logan Weisz, Whitney Weisz, and Austin Weisz, great grandson, Owen Weisz; brother, Harold (Hilda) Hoffman, Aberdeen, SD; sister-in-laws: Lavina Hoffman, Onida, SD; Wilma Hoffman, Sioux Falls, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Erwin, Ernest, Elvin and Leo.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 5, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 PM with a prayer service at 5:00 PM at Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River, ND. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to the First Care Health Center of Park River or Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Park River.
