Locked out Crystal workers join tire union on 6-state tour
Grand Forks North Dakota 375 2nd Ave. N. 58203

The Bakery Workers union and United Steelworkers said they'll be focusing attention on "the most recent wave of greed-motivated corporate attacks on workers and their unions."

Some 1,300 Crystal workers have been locked out since Aug. 1, the day after they rejected a contract proposed by management. About 1,000 workers at Cooper's Findlay, Ohio, tire plant were locked out Nov. 28.

The "Journey for Justice" will begin Wednesday in Fargo and is expected to make stops in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana before concluding Feb. 27 in Findlay. Rallies, fundraisers and other events are planned.

The unions said the journey will be documented on Twitter, Facebook and the CrystalGreed.com/JourneyForJustice blog.
