'Raise the Roof'

-- April 28 at Plan B, the Club: "Raise the Roof," an event that will feature two popular regional bands, Carmen the Cactus and 24Seven, will begin at 7 p.m. April 28 at Plan B, the Club in the Alerus Center. Carmen the Cactus played at last year's Happy Harry's Beer Fest and 24Seven plays songs ranging from Tom Petty to Green Day, a news release said. Tickets: $10; on sale now at the Alerus Center box office; $5 with student ID; parking will be free.

Crash course

-- Today and Thursday in Grand Forks: "Writers Conference 101: A Crash Course" continues today and Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. in UND's Bookstore Tower Cafe. It's free and open to the public. Easter egg hunt

-- March 27 in Pembina, N.D.: The Pembina State Museum will host its ninth annual Easter Egg Hunt from 2 to 4 p.m. March 27 with a variety of family activities. Games and crafts will begin at 2 p.m. and the Easter egg hunt (for children 3 to 11) at 3 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult. There will be two areas for the egg hunt, with one area for the younger children and one for older children. Photos: Parents can bring cameras to take photos of their children with the Easter Bunny. Pet photos

-- March 28 in Columbia Mall: The Easter Bunny will be available to pose with pets for keepsake photos from 6 to 8 p.m. March 28 in Columbia Mall. All pet owners can enter to win prizes from Pets R' Inn. Owners and pets should enter and exit through the north mall doors near Sears.
