LETTER: Thanks for helping Camp Good Mourning fundraiser succeed
GRAND FORKS — A huge thank-you goes out to the Grand Forks Good Girls Club for hosting the second annual Downtown Fashion Night.
With the support of downtown business sponsors, ticket sales and generous donors, more than $13,600 was raised for Altru’s Camp Good Mourning, a grief camp for youth ages six through 18.
These funds go a long way in helping us teach our youth how to cope with their grief in healthy ways. Group sessions and activities help children and teens express their feelings, learn coping skills and share their experiences with other children and teens in their own age group who have lost a loved one.
I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to all participating downtown businesses, Truyu Aesthetic Center, the Empire Arts Center, Kittson and Sadie’s Couture Floral, the dancers from Dance Etc. and Nancy Pasley Dance Studio, the models and UND hockey players who walked the runway and to all who bought tickets and attended the event.
On behalf of youth who will attend Altru’s Camp Good Mourning and their families, this support in their time of need is greatly appreciated.
The 16th annual Camp Good Mourning will be held June 27–29 at Park River Bible Camp near Park River, N.D. To learn more about Altru’s Camp Good Mourning, please contact Altru’s Hospice at 701 780-5258 or visit altru.org/goodmourning.
