GRAND FORKS — The headline was as surprising as it was exciting: “Very first Vine from space.”
If you are over 50, you probably are expecting that they found some vegetation on a distant object in space. And if that’s the case, you are now a non-dues paying member of the society Ignoramus (it sounds so much more palatable in Latin).
Google “Vine,” and you will remain ignorant of this less-than-two-years-old term, except to learn that it has something to do with Twitter and visual images.
The new hand-tools are generating terms faster than the old ones go out of vogue. I call upon the Herald to publish a column, “The New e-English for Seniors” in which we learn to communicate in this new lingua franca.
