LETTER: Gas price range: High, higher, Grand Forks
GRAND FORKS — As a Grand Forks resident, I’d like to know why the Grand Forks area has such high gas prices when compared with the Fargo/Moorhead area.
I was in Fargo the other day and paid $3.33 a gallon for gas, which was 16 cents lower than gas in Grand Forks.
It’s also interesting to note that almost all the stations in Grand Forks (except for Sam’s Club) post the same price for gasoline, whereas in Fargo, I could have bought my gas at prices per gallon ranging from $3.33 to $3.39.
Check out the website GasBuddy.com and you’ll see lower prices in a lot of cities that are not far from Grand Forks: Fertile, Minn., at $3.39, Mahnomen, Minn., at $3.34, Erskine, Minn., at $3.37 and Crookston at $3.40.
Why do we as Grand Forks residents not share in these lower prices?
