Landslide near U.S. 2 in Crookston to be repaired
A project to stabilize the landslide area near U.S. Highway 2 in Crookston is scheduled to begin next summer, says the state Department of Transportation.
"The slide is the result of a slope failure near the highway that's caused by the nearby Red Lake River," project manager Jim Bittmann said in a statement. "It has not currently affected the safety of the road surface, but it has the potential to in the future."
The affected area is near West Sixth Street, which is on the U.S. 2 route, between Groveland Avenue and Pine Street.
