The event also marks the final week of the Just For Fun! summer recreation program for kids hosted by local parks each year.

Family Fun Night, sponsored by Grand Forks Parks and Recreation, featured inflatable games, face painting, a kids parade, free food from Pizza Ranch, gymnastics and even a fire truck.

Grand Forks Parks and Recreation is completely paid for with taxpayers dollars and Family Fun Night, along with many other events during the summer, is a way for the Parks and Recreation staff to show their appreciation.

"It's our way of giving back to the community," said Grand Forks Park District Special Events Manager Lynne Roche. "It gives families a chance to enjoy time together."
