Grand Forks police say that alleged theft of van with child inside was not a random act

Grand Forks police said the possible theft of a van with a child inside Wednesday afternoon was not a random incident.

According to a news release, there is a person of interest who is a “prior domestic partner of the victim.”

Police have not yet found the person, according to Sgt. Travis Jacobson. He said he’s not sure the person, a man, would be charged.
