Grand Forks’ Alerus Center exceeds profit goal
The Alerus Center in Grand Forks more than doubled its monthly profit goal for March, following the events center’s continuing upward trend of profit.
The city-owned building had $242,000 in profits in March, while staff had budgeted for $119,000 in profit, said Darryl Jorgenson, finance manager.
Alerus Center staff had budgeted for 38 events in March, but ended up scheduling 51, he said.
Year-to-date, the event center’s profits are $352,000, which is more than the $92,000 that was expected by this time of year, he said.
February’s profits were also well over that month’s projection, with the Alerus Center pulling in $153,000, which was more than double the expected $24,000.
