Give Grand campaign raises an estimated $325,000
As a Grand Forks fundraising campaign neared its completion Saturday, one organizer estimated its total impact amounted to $325,000.
The Grand Forks Community Foundation’s Give Grand campaign was a seven-day online fundraiser that matched donations for four area organizations, Northlands Rescue Mission, Valley Community Health Centers, Ground UP Adventures and the 42nd Street Destination Corridor.
Although organizations had so far raised $151,637 by noon Saturday — to be matched against $173,000 in available funds — the total impact from the campaign is about $325,000, said Kristi Mishler, executive director of the Community Foundation. The online campaign was set to close at midnight Saturday.
The Community Foundation, which is sponsoring the event, has been raising funds for this since January, she said.
“We’re really satisfied,” she said.
The Community Foundation had hoped to raise money for these projects and draw new donors, she said. For instance, Ground UP Adventures, a nonprofit focused on promoting outdoor adventure, had 58 donors give during the campaign, according to the Give Grand website.
The Community Foundation chose the four organizations based on needs stated in the North Valley/New Vision 360 community survey, Mishler has said.
