Edie Rygh of Park River says her garden is always “a work in progress.”

Her gardens began 16 years ago, when she and her husband, Wally, built their home. The flowers in her garden include irises, lilies, hydrangeas, black-eyed Susans and mums.

“Almost every type of flower imaginable is interspersed to give the gardens variety in color and texture,” Rygh said.

Other features of her garden include a pond in the backyard, which has dark pink water lilies blooming in it. In addition to the flowers, she also has a separate vegetable garden and fruit trees.

“Taking care of (my garden) never seems like work, though; it’s time for me to enjoy the outdoors,” Rygh said, adding that she is usually joined by her dog and three cats.
