Fertile, Minn., woman hurt in beet truck accident

The condition of a Fertile, Minn., woman who had to be extracted from her vehicle following an accident Wednesday afternoon was unavailable Thursday night.

Kimberly Vaughan, 49, was taken to Riverview Hospital in Crookston after she rear-ended a sugar beet truck driven by 24-year-old Kindra Hoffman, police said. The accident occurred just after 4 p.m. Wednesday on Polk County Highway 9, about a half-mile west of U.S. Highway 75.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office, which is investigating the crash, said Thursday night no new information was available, including the condition of Vaughan. A supervisor at Riverview would not release any information regarding Vaughan's condition as well.
