FEMA to certify Crookston dikes

Flood insurance rates for some Crookston residents should drop soon.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency intends to certify city dikes, which means property in the Sampson and Jerome additions will be transferred from the 100-year flood plain to the 500-year flood plain, according to Pat Kelly, the city’s public works director.
