Emmett "Ole" Lester Olson

Emmett "Ole" Lester Olson, 73, Newcastle, WY, went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2014 in Casper, WY.

Emmett was born April 29, 1941 to Lester Emmett and Genieve (Serverson) Olson at Grand Forks, ND. He attended Grand Forks Central High School and played hockey. After graduating in 1959, Emmett joined the United States Air Force; he completed basic training in Texas, before being assigned to Ellsworth Air Force Base, SD, where he served as a crew chief on B52 bombers. After being Honorable Discharged, he moved to Newcastle, where he lived and worked as a foreman for Boise-Cascade, an owner/operator truck driver, a welder and foreman and shovel operator at Jacobs Ranch.

On July 15, 1989, Emmett married Hazel Wondercheck in Custer, SD. They were blessed with a son, Joshua Emmett Olson.

Emmett loved the Lord and accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior of his life.

Emmett was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. He enjoyed being with his family and friends.

Emmett is survived by his wife, Hazel Olson; son, Joshua (Heather) Olson; daughter, Ginger Polston; grandsons, Jaydin Olson and Steven Polston; adopted son, Bill Olson and his family; brothers, Robert (Sharon) Olson and Gene (Ina) Olson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Mike Emmett Olson.

Funeral Services for Emmett will be at 2 PM, Monday, May 19, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Newcastle, with visitation two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date at the Dickens Cemetery, Dickens, NE.
