A 5k fun run for dogs and their human friends is scheduled Saturday starting in Grand Forks’ Lincoln Park, according to organizers of the “Dog Jog.”
Participants can also compete in mini races, dog tricks and a “dogelganger” contest to see which human is the closest doppelganger to his or her dog. Humans without dogs are also welcome.
Registration begins 9 a.m. and the noncompetitive run begins 10 a.m. The cost is $40 for most entrees, $25 for students or service members and free for children 10 and younger if their parents also register. Proceeds will go to the Circle of Friends Humane Society in Grand Forks.
Participating dogs will get a bandanna and their humans will get T-shirts, doggie do-do bags and water.
Food will be available for purchase afterwards.
UND’s recreation and tourism studies class planned the event.
