Crash kills driver of pickup in south-central N.D.

STRASBURG, N.D. -- One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon near Strasburg in south-central North Dakota, the state Highway Patrol reported.

Shortly before 5 p.m. Friday, the driver of a car failed to yield at a yield sign at Seventh Avenue Southeast and 89th Street Southeast four miles west of Strasburg and struck a pickup truck, the patrol said. The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck’s passenger was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Linton, and the driver of the car was treated at the scene and released.

Neither person in the pickup was wearing a seat belt.

Charges are pending, according to the patrol.
