Color Run plans Grand Forks race
Grand Forks will host a Color Run event Sept. 13, organizers said Friday.
The Color Run is a race in which runners are sprayed with colored dye along the route of the race. Started in 2012, organizers bill it as the “happiest 5K on the planet,” and participants are encouraged to wear white apparel to be covered with colors by the end of the race.
This year’s event will start at the Alerus Center at 8 a.m. It will feature new attractions and merchandise, according to a news release.
The Color Run held its first Grand Forks event last year, drawing nearly 4,000 participants.
In its first year, it was held in more than 50 cities and since has expanded to more than 50 countries and 240 cities, according to the release.
