UND coach Bubba Schweigert announced Wednesday that wide receiver Miguel Cerriteno has signed on as the latest member of his first recruiting class at the school.
Cerriteno signed his grant-in aid papers late last week and has two years of eligibility to play at UND starting in 2014.
“Miguel is a player that is going to add some size and skill to our wide receiver position,” Schweigert said. “He has the ability to make big plays as he showed at the JUCO level this past season and he made a lot of those plays against guys that have signed with FBS and other FCS programs, so we expect him to come in and contribute right away.”
At Feather River Community College, Cerriteno earned first team All-Mid-Empire Conference honors and Region II first team All-California honors. The Las Vegas native caught 58 passes for 826 yards and was among the top 10 receivers in the California JUCO ranks with 11 touchdown receptions. He had at least one touchdown in each of his team’s final six contests.
The 6-foot-2 wideout had a season-high 13 receptions for 163 yards at San Joaquin Delta, then had five receptions for a season-high 173 yards and three touchdowns in a win over conference rival Sacramento.
