Clyde A. Pfannsmith, age 75 of Fordville, ND passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014 at the First Care Health Center of Park River.

Clyde Arlen Pfannsmith was born February 18, 1938 in Fordville, ND the son of the late Edgar and Martha (Ward) Pfannsmith. He grew up and attended school in Fordville. He served in the United States Army from 1957-1959. Following his discharge he attended Molar Barber College in Fargo. Clyde was united in marriage to Harleen Lindvall on July 3, 1963. The couple lived in Grand Forks for a time where Clyde worked as a barber. He later moved to Fordville and farmed with his father. Clyde was united in marriage to Debra Senf on July 14, 1990. The couple made their home in Fordville. Clyde enjoyed his life of farming. He always said he did what he loved, loved what he did and was happy to know that his family will continue farming his land and carry on the legacy. Clyde retired from farming in 2013.

He was a member of the Fordville Presbyterian Church, the Fordville American Legion and served on the Fordville Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Deb of Fordville, ND; daughters: Kristy Pfannsmith-Knapp, Elgin, SC; Bonnie (Doug) Freije, Edmore, ND; Joanie (Will) Rossow, Flasher, ND; step-children: Deanne (Taif) Trieglaff, West Fargo, ND and Dustin (Andrea) Sluke, Fordville, ND; grandchildren: Ashtin, Fallyn, and Morgan Freije, all of Edmore, ND; Sabrina and Abby Rossow of Flasher, ND; step-grandchildren: Jolynn Trieglaff, West Fargo, ND and Rylan French, Fordville, ND; sisters: Darla (Sonny) Huderele and Elsie (Ronald) Shereck, both of Tabor, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Brintnell.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at Fordville Lutheran Church, Fordville, ND. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River, ND and Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Military rites will be provided by the Fordville American Legion Post and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Fordville, ND.
