Carla Jean (Behm) Wardzinski

Carla Jean (Behm) Wardzinski, 56, Bismarck, ND passed away after a short, but courageous battle with cancer on Monday, April 28, 2014 at her home. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 1470 South Washington Street, Bismarck. Private Interment will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be held at Bismarck Funeral Home, 3723 Lockport Street, Bismarck on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 5 PM to 8 PM with memory sharing starting at 7 PM.

She was born on March 7, 1958 in Grand Forks, ND, the second of five children born to the late Earl "Squirt" and Margaret (Yoney) Behm of Niagara, ND where she was raised. In 1976, she graduated from Unity High School in Petersburg, ND.

Mike Wardzinski and Carla were married on September 22, 1979 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Niagara and resided in Grand Forks until moving to Bismarck in 1980.

Carla enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her family and enjoyed playing games and cards. She was an avid animal lover and considered all of her pets in her life to be part of the family. She enjoyed traveling and especially looked forward to the "girls vacation" to Las Vegas with her sisters, sister-in-law, nieces and any friends of the family that could make the trek. She loved gardening and was very proud of her flower and vegetable gardens. Carla enjoyed walking and biking with her husband during the warmer months. Over the last couple of years she had started to take up golf and enjoyed getting out as much as she could with family.

At the time of her death Carla was employed by the State of North Dakota, Department of Public Instructions Food and Nutrition Program as an Administrative Staff Officer.

Carla was known for her smile, her upbeat personality, and for her devotion to family and friends. She will be missed by all whose life she has touched in so many ways.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Mike, her sons Scott Wardzinski, Fargo, ND, and Mitch (Holly) Wardzinski, Bismarck, her mother Margaret Behm, Grand Forks, her brothers Roger (Marilyn) Behm, Cavalier, ND, and Robert Behm, Bismarck, and her sisters, Jolene (Kevin) Nason, Lakeland, FL, and Jill Kroke, Michigan, ND.

She was preceded in death by her father Earl "Squirt" Behm.
